SYMPTOMS: DIFFICULTY SLEEPING, WEIGHT GAIN

Tuesday, June 23rd, 2009

Location:  Austin, TX.

Your Question:  When I was 39 I had a hysterectomy and took hormonereplacement for years. I have been off of them for about 5 yrs. I am now 58 and have things going on that are very disturbing to me. I
am not sleeping well. There are some nights when I can only sleep for 3 or 4 hrs. When I do sleep more I find I am waking up several time a night. I am gaining weight on a regular basis. I excercise daily and watch what I eat. No fried foods and very few sweets. I have gained 15 lbs. in 2 yrs. I stopped smoking about 3 yrs. ago. I have no health insurance and am too young for Medicare. Is there any way Dr. Roby could help me? I have a young granddaughter I
love to spend time with but don’t have the energy to enjoy my time with her.

Answer:  The weight issue: you might be exercising too vigorously, which (if your pulse rate rises over 90, you will start to pump out adrenaline, which signals to your brain and body that you are in an emergency situation, and your body is hard wired to NOT burn fat, in an emergency. Our weight loss program includes LSD. Looong, Slooow, Dissstance, walking, for 1 hour in the morning, and 1 hour just before going to bed. We prefer that it be on a treadmill, inside a home, or in a gym. No going over 90 pulse (if it does, you are going too fast). No sweating. No fatigue. No shortness of breath. And, yes, I do know how hard it is to get started. I’ve been exactly where you are, right now. Most of us who work with Dr. Roby, started as patients. We all know how you feel. The LSD in the evening will help you to sleep better. If you can dissipate the adrenal build up from the day, you will soon be able to get down to the 4th level of sleep; what I call the relax and repair department, and knit up the ragged edges neatly for the next day. Within 30 days, you may find that you no longer feel the need to see a physician.

Diet: Locarb, low fat. We especially like South Beach, because of the variety of choices and good recipes. We like for you to restrict your diet only on school nights. On Friday, and Saturday eat whatever you are missing the most. On Sunday, go back to the restrictions.

Go to the website: robyinstitute.com, and order the free download of Dr. Roby’s new book, “Maybe It Is All In Your Head … And You Are NOT Crazy!”. If you will email your address to me, we will mail a copy of the book to you, also for free.

If you would like to come and see us, give Pam a call at our office, 338-4336, and make an evaluation appointment. No one has ever, nor will ever, be turned away from treatment, because of a lack of money. We can use a sliding scale to arrive at an equitable amount of payment. If it is a real hardship, we can also waive the fee totally. We aren’t just about money, it’s about being healthy. We like our patients very much, and consider them to be our extended family.

Please let me know what you decide. Thanks for contacting us, and sharing a part of your life with us.

SYMPTOMS: SMOKER; FIBROCYSTIC BREASTS, NO ENERGY, PAIN, MEMORY LOSS, WEIGHT GAIN

Friday, June 19th, 2009

Location: New Braunfels, TX.

Your Question: Hi there ,I became menopausal at age 40 due to ovararian cysts .Iam taking no hormones .I am a smoker and have fibrocystic tissue in my breast .I have been told that I can not take hormones. Are your treatments with hormones? Iam totally misurable and have been for 4 years , no energy, pain ,no memory, weight gain ,and total shut down from the public,I stay home dont wont to get involved in any thing . Can you help me or not?

Answer: We treat ovarian cysts with dilutions of progesterone, just as we do with many other types of hormonal problems.  Most of the time, we find that there is an allergic reaction to various hormones going on with these types of complaints. The hormones that they are referring to, that you cannot take, are probably only the sex hormones. That still leaves a bunch of them, that we can help you keep under control. We can certainly make you feel better than you do right now.

If you are having other hormonal problems, which you can be, we can treat those imbalances, along with your other, more mundane allergies, and at the very least, help you to feel better. If you are having an allergic reaction to one or more of your own hormones, we can give you sublingual drops to alleviate the symptoms that you are having. Easy to use, and very effective.

Since you live so close to us, my suggestion would be that you call us: 800-842-6349, and make an evaluation appointment. That way, you can see for yourself, whether it will work for you or not. Just ask to speak with Pam, if she is available. If she isn´t,available when you call, let her call you back. She can help you with the process.

We do accept almost all healthcare plans, including MCare, MCaid, and Military. We exclude Humana.

Our policy, because we are confident that our method works well, is to offer a money back ´satisfaction guarantee´ all patients. If you come in for a trial visit, and we find that we cannot help you, you aren’t pleased with the results, or you don’t see significant improvement before you leave the office, there is no charge for the visit. If you decide to become a patient, try the protocol, and after some time, conclude that you are not achieving the results that you had hoped for, just let us know and we will refund any money that you have paid to us.

While you are thinking it over, go back to the website: www.robyinstitute.com, and take advantage of the offer of a free download of the first chapter of Dr. Roby’s new book,”Maybe It Is All In Your Head … And You Are Not Crazy!” You will be amazed at the knowledge that you will gain, just from reading that small excerpt. You will know more about hormones, in general, than most doctors when they finish med school. You will also gain much insight to what is going on with your own hormones; in your own body. If you have any questions, email them to me and I will answer them for you.

Thank you for sharing a part of your life with us. Now, let’s get you back to the real you, and stop the pain.

SYMPTOMS: SEVERE ALLERGY, WEIGHT GAIN, FATIGUE, COUGHING, WATERY EYES

Thursday, June 18th, 2009

Location: Leander, Texas

Your Question: I am a breast cancer survivor x two.  I have had bilateral mastecomy and bilateral salpingoopherectomy & hysterectomy.  I was told I was not a candidate for hormone replacement therapy.  I am struggling with severe allergies and many of the symptoms such as: weight gain, feeling tired all the time, coughing and watery eyes and others you describe in your website and also on the radio program this morning. Can you help?

AnswerCongratulations on being a survivor.

I’m pretty sure that we can help you. Even though you say that you aren’t a candidate for hormone therapy or replacement, we can still treat you for allergy and make your life feel a lot better. Part of the protocol that we use in hormone therapy includes the “neutralizing” of the allergic reaction to the substances which are causing the allergy symptoms. Once we’ve done that part, we can begin the process of “desensitizing you”, a slower process, but effective. It is also a process that we can use to block any of the reactions that you might be having to your own hormones. It entails giving you a very weak dilution of the hormone, too weak and small, to be called a therapeutic dose, to see if it stops the reaction.

Remember that when you are saying you aren’t a candidate for hormone therapy, it doesn’t mean all hormones, just the hormones that were feeding the cancers. We can still make sure that you aren’t having difficulty with others such as adrenaline, or thyroid, which should also make you feel better.

My suggestion to you would be to give us a call in the office 338-4336, and set up an evaluation appointment. It doesn’t take very long, and we will know right away if we can help you or not. If you will ask to speak with Pam, and if she isn’t available, let her call you back, she will guide you through all facets of the appointment.

I would also like to invite you to go back to the website: www.robyinstitute.com, and take advantage of Dr. Roby’s free download of the first chapter of his new book, “Maybe It Is All In Your Head … And You Are NOT Crazy!”. It will answer so many questions that you probably have about the hormones, and you will be amazed that you will know more about them, than any doctor you have seen, so far.

If you find that you have more questions after reading the chapter, please let me know and I will answer them for you.

 Thanks for contacting us.

SYMPTOMS: DEPRESSION/MOOD SWINGS; INSOMNIA; MUSCLE ACHES/PAIN; EXCESSIVELY OILY SKIN; ALWAYS OVERHEATED; WEIGHT GAIN, SWEAT, RANCID BODY ODOR

Monday, June 8th, 2009

Location:  Atlanta, GA

Your Question:  I am 35 years old, a single mother, and an attorney. Yes, I am frequently stressed and usually sleep deprived. I get that that is to be expected. However, there is something much more going on here and I need
answers. I need relief.

Over the past three years I’ve seen five doctors and two therapists, without significant relief. I have taken Wellbutrin, Zoloft, Cymbalta, Ambien, Lunesta, Serequel (for sleep), an antibiotic and two topical
treatments for acne, birth control pills, and a prescription antiperspirant. The combinations change, but the end result remains thesame.

I don’t suffer from panic attacks like I used to before I was medicated, but I still live with a number of symptoms and recently some new ones.My symptoms include:

Depression and mood swings (bi-polar has been ruled out); Insomnia; Irritability; Fatigue;  Restlessness; Muscle aches and spasms; Numbness on the surface of the skin in some places; Ovarian pain (I had a cystectomy two weeks ago, but was told the cyst was too small to accountfor the amount of pain I felt); I used to have very dry skin, scalp, and hair and now I’m excessively oily; I always feel overheated when everyone else feels comfortable. I sweat almost constantly and have begun emitting a rancid, acidic smelling body odor, I’ve gained 40 pounds in the past two years and no amount of exercise/caloric reduction has an effect; I haven’t had a period in six months and I feel like I’m
trapped in perpetual PMS (including constant breast tenderness, bloating, food cravings, constant acne breakouts, and unprovoked weeping).

Doctor, I don’t know what to do. I’m being told, this “is normal,” that’s “not uncommon,” “I can’t find anything wrong with you,” “You’re healthy as far as I can see,” blah, blah, blah. Here, have a pill or an ointment and whatever it is will clear up.  Nothing clears up.

Is it possible that a hormone imbalance or allergy could account for all these symptoms or is it more likely that there is more than one thing going on here?

Response: Every symptom listed in your email is classic to hormone imbalance and/or hormone allergy. Yes, you can have both at the same time. Our patients frequently do. You probably have other allergies, but the keystone, in  these cases, is the imbalance. We know that most people who were born in or after 1941, are born with the hormone imbalance, even though it may not manifest itself right away. If you have to have a diagnosis, this would be the one to pray for. Although traditional physicians seem to have great difficulty with the concept, because they are trained to recognize and treat real disease states, they have little to no acquaintance with hormones, which they think of in terms of PMS, but nothing else, and even that recognition has come about, pretty recently. It is, however, what we do. We find it to be very easy to recognize the symptoms, and easy to treat the imbalance/allergy. Once the basic problem is treated away, the symptoms seem to, rather gently, evaporate on their own, without much fanfare.

Before we continue, I would like for you to go back to the website: robyinstitute, com, and avail yourself of the free download that Dr. Roby is offering of the first chapter of his new book, “Maybe It Is All In Your Head … And You Are NOT Crazy!”. Just this first little chapter will give you more information about hormones in general, than doctors learn about them in med school. It will tell you something about the role of your own hormones, what is going on in your body, why, how we can teach you to overcome these problems, regain control, and keep it that way. When you have finished your reading, email any further questions that you might have, and we will work on them, together.

Would you be able, or want to come here for testing and treatment? We have many, many out of town/state/country, patients, who come here annually for retesting. Texas physicians are prohibited from diagnosing, treating or prescribing for anyone whom they have not seen and examined, in person. The first appointment must be in one of our clinics. After that first visit, almost anything else can be resolved by phone or email. We don’t have many ‘post first visit problems’, and when we do have one, it is usually about adjusting dosage, timing, or just questions that were forgotten in the huge amount of new information.

We are very supportive of our patients. Dr. Roby encourages his patients to call him at any time, in the office, on his cell phone, or at home. He publishes all of his phone numbers, to make it easy.

If you would like to come here, to try something different, obviously traditional medicine alone hasn’t helped, give us a call at: 800-842-6349. Ask to speak with Pam, if she is available. If she isn’t please just leave a message, and wait for her to return your call. You will be glad that you waited. She is great, and tell you all that you need to know for the visit. She can email a lab slip for you to have our standard, hormone panel blood test locally, prior to embarking on a long trip. discuss fees and services, insurance benefits, and what to expect during the visit. Most patients make it into a day trip. They come in on an early morning flight, spend about three hours in our office, and leave on an afternoon or evening flight, with everything that is needed to begin getting well, get home in time to sleep in their own bed. At most, there might be an overnight. Austin and San Antonio are pretty little cities, and some of the patients make their annual into a fun trip.

We accept almost all health care plans, including Medicare, Medicaid and Military. Humana is excluded. There is a money back, satisfaction guarantee in place. If, when you come for the first time, we find that we cannot help you with the problems, the visit is free. If you do decide to try the protocol, and later conclude that your results are less than were expected, you have the option of calling us for a refund of any money that you have paid to us.

Please let me know if I have left out anything that you wanted to know, and I’ll try to do better. Thank you for contacting us. We look forward to seeing you, sometime in the near future. I’m sure that we can help you. Most of us, who work with Dr. Roby, began as patients. We’ve had the same experiences that you are having. We’ve been there, and can empathize with you in your present life. Now, you know, that you have a choice.

SYMPTOMS: NO ENERGY, PAIN, MEMORY LOSS, WEIGHT GAIN

Monday, June 8th, 2009
Location:  New Braunfels, TX

Your Question:  Hi there , I became menopausal at age 40 due to ovararian cysts . Iam taking no hormones . I am a smoker and have fibrocystic tissue in my breast . I have been told that I can not take hormones. Are your treatments with hormones? Iam totally misurable and have been for 4 years , no energy, pain ,no memory, weight gain ,and total shut down from the public,I stay home dont wont to get involved in any thing. Can you help me or not?

Response:  We do work with hormones. Primarily, we treat people who have the same problems that you are presenting, because of a hormone imbalance and/or a true allergic response to one or more of their own hormones. We do treat fibrocystic breasts. Traditional medicine has given it a much grander name, “progesterone mediated hypersensitivity”.

We use a protocol that includes: “Neutralizing” the immediate allergic response. Dietary changes. Movement. Spirituality. Bio-identical hormone replacement therapy.

After testing to determine the actual substances causing your problems, we structure a longer term sublingual treatment, using the results of your tests, to make the sera, to “desensitize” you to the allergic reaction component, and stop the reaction which is causing the pain, the memory loss, and all of the other symptoms that you have listed. Each protocol is designed for just one individual. While the framework is always the same, each treatment is different.

We would like for you to go back to the website, and take advantage of the free download that Dr. Roby offers, of the first chapter of his new book, “Maybe It Is All In Your Head … And You Are Not Crazy!” This will help by giving you a better understanding of hormones in general. It will tell you something about your own hormones, and the role they play in your body functions. We teach you how to treat the problem with a blocking agent, so that you no longer have the reaction, put you back in control of your body, and keep you there. If, after reading the excerpt, you find that you still have questions, please email them to me, and we’ll work on getting the answers for you.

Since you live so close to us, why not pick up the phone, and call to make an appointment for an evaluation?

It won’t take very long to find out whether or not we can be of help to you. Dr. Roby will test for hormone reaction with a couple of drops under the tongue, and it usually takes from 10 to 30 seconds for the result for each one. We will also test for common allergies. People with the hormone problem, will almost always have multiple food sensitivities, along with airborrnes, environmental, and chemical allergies. Dr Roby discovered long ago, that the most effective way of treating is to treat everything at one time, instead of trying to do it separately. It produces the optimal result in a shorter time. We really like for our patients to do well on our protocols, and we are very supportive.

We know that hormones and allergies are so tightly interrelated, that it seems almost impossible to know where one stops and the other begins. Our immune systems are wondrous things, but when we have sustained inflammation, and are on an overload mode, they will become confused and attack anything coming near. We stop the attack mode, calm everything down, and start again, back to normal. Once the balance is brought back, the symptoms usually will have gently melted away, on their own.

We do accept almost all healthcare plans, including Medicare, Medicaid and Military. Humana is excluded. We offer a money back, satisfaction guarantee to all patients. If, on your first visit with us, we find that we cannot help you, the visit is free. If you decide to try the protocol, and after some time, conclude that it isn’t working the way that you had expected, just tell us and we will refund any money that you have paid to us.

If you would like to come in, call us at: 800-842-6349. My suggestion is that you ask for Pam, if she is available. If she isn’t, leave a message and let her call you back. She is really great, and knows all of the information to give you. She can email a lab slip for our standard hormone panel blood test, talk with you about insurance, discuss fees and services, give directions. In short, everything you ever wanted to know about Roby Institute, and its practices.

Please feel free to email me at any time. Thanks for sharing part of your life with us. Now, let’s see if we can help you get back to being the person that you really are.

Best regards,

HEADACHE SINCE AUG.2006; TINNITUS; FATIGUE; WEIGHT GAIN; HASHIMOTO’S THYROIDITIS; OBSTRUTIVE SLEEP APNEA

Monday, June 8th, 2009
Location: Fredericksburg, VA

Your Question: My problems started back in Aug. 2006 when I woke up with a headache that had never gone away.  I have had the same headache going on 4 years this August.  My headache started a domino affect on my health….I now have constant ear ringing, horrible fatigue along with the headache.  I have had MRI’s on my head and neck with nothing being found.  In the spring of 2008 is when the ear pain began and now is constant ear ringing.  I was also waking up unrefreshed from sleep in the spring of 2008 and was diagnosed with mild obstructive sleep apnea this past summer and was put on CPAP which has not helped at all.  In additon, with all of these things happening, I was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s thyroiditis and am currently on 3 grains of Armour.  This has ruined my life as I am so exhausted I cannot do anything along with all of the other symptoms.  I have tried many medications and nothing helps.  Since these things have happened with my health, I weight 60 lbs. more than I used to since I stopped going to the gym because of my headache and the fatigue.  My hormones have been checked and am always told that I am normal.  I need help.

Response: I can be relatively sure that while your hormones are “within normal range” they are in the very low part of normal. Traditional physicians really don’t know what  normal range actually means, and they didn’t learn much, if anything, about hormones and their functions in the body (hormones are part of everything that your body does), in med school.

Before going on, I want to send you back to the website: robyinstitute.com, so that you can take the free download that Dr. Roby is offering, of the first chapter of his new book, “Maybe It Is All In Your Head … And You Are NOT Crazy!”. That one excerpt will open your eyes to hormones in general, and what is going on with yours, in particular. And yes. You do need help. It’s what we do.

You will probably have more, and more specific questions after you have finished reading. If you will email them to me, I’ll answer them.

I’m also going to give you some instructions that you will probably not like, and you will think that I wasn’t paying attention to the words that you have written to us, but they are thee nonmed part of our protocol, and will help you, a lot. If you will just follow them for thirty days, I guarantee that you will feel, at least, a 50% improvement in how you feel, you will lose weight, and be able to sleep much better.

 1) Low carb, low fat diet on the days that have a school night. We like South Beach, and Weight Watchers, because of the number of choices you get. Any diet will work, but you have to follow it rigorously. On the website, look at the the section on Food Allergy. There is a list of food groups that we would like for you to do, before you start the real diet, so that you can figure out your sensitivities. All allergies are related, and they are all related to hormones.

 2) LDS. Looong, Slooow, Distaaance walking. We prefer that you do your walking indoors, and in a repetitive mode. As, on a treadmill. I bought one at an Academy store, for $275.00 How slow? Start with 1 mile an hour. Start with whatever amount of time you can. 5 minutes, if you have to. We do not want you to sweat, become fatigued, or experience shortness of breath. If you do, you are going too fast! Please get a pulse meter (every discount store has them) in the sports section of Walmart,Target, etc. We would like for you to increase the time each day, as you get stronger, until you are doing an hour in the morning, and another one just before going to bed. This LSD is the only really safe way to eliminate the excess adrenaline, that you have been pumping out all through the day. I do it, Dr. Roby does it, as do all of our patients.

 3) Say your prayers, meditate, practice yoga, or Pilates. We do a lot of both. Whatever you like to use to stay centered and relaxed. Please keep us informed as you go, so that we can make other suggestions as your condition improves.

We would also like for you to go to the Airborne Allergy section, and get the fans and filters to improve your habitat, primarily, in your bedroom. All of the instructions are right there in airbornes. If you have any questions about it, let me know. We have fifteen fans going in our house, along with an ozone generator, and a UV lamp. This will rid your home of mold, which is the culprit that keeps you awake, or makes you wake up ten thousand times every night. Well, maybe not quite that many, but close. Pollens are released during the day, molds sporulate in the dark. They reach their peak between midnight and four a.m. When the mold goes off, as it does every time the AC comes on, people who are allergic, release a shot of adrenaline, and it wakes us up. We don’t know why we are waking up, we just do.

This is the basic part of the non-medical part of the protocol.

For the rest, bio-identical hormone replacement therapy, allergy testing, and an annual retesting, the appointment must be done here, as mandated by law. Doctors in Texas are prohibited from diagnosing, treating or prescribing for anyone whom they have not seen in person. The annual retesting must be done in the same way.

If you think that you would like to come here, we can email a lab slip so that you can have our standard, hormone panel blood test done more conveniently in your local lab. You can call the office at 800-842-6349, and ask to speak with Pam, if she is available. Pam knows everything about the practice and is just wonderful. She can answer pretty much any questions pertaining your visit, and what to expect. We prefer that you come here, after the thirty days of the walking and dieting … if you still feel the need to. If Pam is unavailable when you call, just leave a message and let her call you back You’ll be glad that you did.

We accept almost all healthcare plans, including Medicare, Medicaid and Military. We exclude Humana.

We offer a no questions asked, money back, satisfaction guarantee, to all patients. If you come here, and we find that we cannot help you a with your problem, the visit is free. If you do try the protocol and are not satisfied with the results, just tell us, and we will refund any money which you have paid to us.

If you have any questions that I haven’t addressed, please let me know.

 Best regards,
